Like any mobile project that doesn't involve a redesign, the biggest challenge is to make the desired content from the existing site mobile-ready without having to redesign the main website. Interactive functional requests included calendaring, online forms, searchable directories, and geo-mapping.
By collaborating with UT to identify the content strategy and architecture requirements, WSOL made the necessary modifications to mobilize existing content. Site content is controlled through CMS400, allowing UT to update both the main UT.edu website and mobile website without duplicating efforts. We utilize a progressive enhancement development approach to ensure that all viewers get a user-friendly experience regardless of device and those with higher browsing capabilities get an enhanced experience.
