What is the WSOL SuperTemplate
Many developers create numerous master pages and dozens of templates to run a CMS website. This is not ideal and it's not necessary. It leads to a less efficient website and can create long-term maintenance problems, and future updates and upgrades can become very time consuming and costly.
The SuperTemplate maximizes built-in CMS400 functionality so that content authors can dynamically assemble pages featuring content, banners, videos, menus, and other items without requiring assistance from a developer or administrator. It provides tools that give content authors of all levels an easy-to-use method to create and manage dynamic pages.
Mobile Ready Content
The WSOL SuperTemplate includes a mobile ready version of the template, so deploying your mobile site is extremely efficient. With built-in capabilities to detect which mobile device a user is connecting with, you can be assured that users are seeing the optimal version of your content.
What the WSOL SuperTemplate Does
Extend CMS400 functionality with the SuperTemplate
- Some of the features the SuperTemplate offers include:
- Determining how many columns are needed for content (page-by-page)
- Deployment of image or video galleries within content blocks
- Seamless integration of social media elements seamlessly
- Being able to publish mobile ready content
- Being able to choose individual menus for pages and sections
- Dynamically bringing in content or groups of content from taxonomies, collections, list summaries, RSS feeds and more
- The ability to create dynamic landing pages and micro-sites without building additional templates
In many cases, we create a single SuperTemplate to run several sites such as an Internet and Intranet site. In addition, because of how WSOL has architected the SuperTemplate, access to the SuperTemplate features can be permissioned and managed by system administrators, ensuring that users that shouldn't have access to certain features, don't.
While this methodology is only available from WSOL, all of our techniques follow CMS400 Best Practices and require no customization of the software, ensuring that the software upgrade path remains intact.
